First Teeth, First "Words" and First Attempts at Crawling

It seems like Lilly is changing and doing new things every week now! Although she hates it we have been making her spend time on her tummy every day. If we provide motivation by putting her favorite toy (a shiny C-3PO doll) right out of reach she can move slightly to get it. But the coolest thing is that she can rotate herself 180 degrees.

Here she is reaching for C3PO with all her might.

And just a few minutes later she had rotated all by herself to face the other direction. Again the motivation (C3PO) was provided to encourage her to move.... but that is all we had to do! She is getting closer to moving on her own!

She has also been babbling like crazy and in the past three days she has said three "words." They are more word-like than actual words but still so cute! First she said "baby" on Thursday when she was practicing crawling. Then she said "dada" when she was cuddling on his lap outside enjoying the sun (see pictures below). Finally she said "mama" while helping me put laundry away. Hopefully it wasn't the action that she was connecting with those particular words... baby = crawling, dada = hanging out/cuddling are okay associations but mama = laundry is really lame!

Here is a shot of her soon after saying "dada." She thought it was pretty funny how excited we were.

Aww... finally a close up to show off her two new tiny teeth! And the facial rash that goes with teething, but she is still Oh so cute!!
