Lilly and Baby Cooper

Our friends Jon and Lindsey welcomed their baby Cooper into the world a little over a month ago. During our beach trip Lilly got to get some baby cuddling time in with the little guy. She is very interested in babies but sometimes gets too close.

Here she is getting pretty close and saying "hi baby" and "baby eyes". At least she wasn't poking at his eyes....

And a cuter picture where you can actually see the little guy and he isn't being too smothered by toddler love.

"I want this", "I need this", "I like this" and "Mine"

Lilly is talking so much more now and has started requesting so many things. She is often saying "I want this ball", "I need this (stuffed) dog" and the cutest is when she says with lots of excitement and awe "I like this!"

The other day we were shopping (which is much harder to do now!) and she kept saying "I need pink ball" "I need yellow ball" etc until I broke down and got her the one in the picture. She also likes to wear the bracelet she has on in the picture and says "I like this!" when she puts it on. And once she has something it is immediately "Mine" and "Lilly ball' etc. Even other people's dogs and cats become "Lilly's" after one pet!

More Swimming!!! Taking more and more risks!

Lilly is getting more and more adventuresome in the pool this summer.

She is jumping off the diving board...

And landing with all smiles. This is the face she made after jumping in, so happy!

Swimming longer and longer distances by herself and feeling comfortable to just float around or hang out by herself too. She is such a daring little girl!

Regression???

We've been getting all the baby stuff out and organized and setting up the baby room. Lilly loves all her old baby stuff. Everything is "mine" and "lilly's" and she really wants to play night night in the crib when she sees it.

One particular morning she really wanted to play with all the baby stuff and pretend to be the baby.

4th of July!

On the 4th Lilly woke up from her nap wiggly and busy. It was hard to get her all dressed and ready and even harder to get pictures of her in her adorable outfit. Impossible to get her to pose for pictures. So her are the best candids we could get.

Beach Trip - Part 3

Lilly also enjoying some other fun beach activities too. 

My parents put in a real horseshoe set and got Lilly a kid set to play with too. She was really putting some thought behind how to play it!

Lilly helped her Grandpa Mike make homemade ice cream. It was the best tasting ice cream!

Beach Trip - Part 2

The second day at the beach the weather was slightly better. We attempted to have Lilly play in the sand in her swim suit but it was too cold!

Eventually my Dad offered up his second shirt to keep her warm but she still wasn't thrilled with playing on the beach or in the water. Someday we'll have to make a trip to California or to see her cousin Jade in Florida where the water and weather is warm!

Beach Trip!

We went to the beach for the first part of the 4th of July weekend. Although it is mid summer it was still pretty chilly. Here are some pictures of Lilly enjoying the beach.

Lilly's Pink Tent

We found a great little tent in the clearance section at target a few weeks ago. Lilly LOVES playing in it, dragging it around the house, storing stuff in it, dancing in it. It is the prefect hideaway. After Lilly goes to bed the dogs are quite fond of it too. Another "addition" to the living room with all her other toys and things.

Aquarium Adventures

Last time we went to the beach we also checked out the big aquarium in Newport to see two of Lilly's favorite things: fish and 'wa wa' She had so much fun!

Summer Weather - Finally!

The weather has finally started to look like summer (except for today... while I write this post it is gloomy and rainy outside!) Lilly is enjoying the nice weather, wearing her pink sunglasses and an occasional frozen treat!

Off To The Beach

We are headed to the beach again tomorrow to celebrate the 4th and I still haven't posted pictures of our last beach trip! It wasn't the warmest weekend but it was clear while we were there which is a plus at the Oregon Coast! Here are some pictures of Lilly exploring the beach.
