Butterflies

This spring we raised caterpillars and watched them become butterlies again in the butterfly box Ryan made me MANY years ago! The girls loved watching the caterpillars and butterflies and Lilly named them. The best part was watching one of them unroll and roll its long tongue for 10 minutes straight, Lilly was in awe!

Of course I didn't manage to get pictures of the girls setting them free or anything really cool but we had fun raising them and studying them. Here were our butterflies from this year.

Car Trip to Mountain Visit

If I ever find the camera charger again I will make sure to add some pictures from our February Wagoner's trip to the mountains, another fun tradition the girls really enjoyed!

On the way to and from the mountains Lilly treated each hill like part of a rollercoaster, no matter how small it was. Vivi wasn't sure what was going on since she is too short to see the hills but she made to watch Lilly and put her hands in the air and said "Wee" each time too. Such silly little girls!

Baby Chicks

Every Spring we have a tradition of visiting the baby chicks at the farm store with my parents. The girls LOVE the baby chicks and could spend hours running from bin to bin watching the chicks, naming them, talking to them and saying "Awww" a bunch of times. This year they had a lot of fun and enjoy the tradition!

Cuddling Sisters

The girls are at a point where they really love and adore each other. Vivi is a really cuddly kid and whenever the girls are watching cartoons she calls out this request "I need a cuddle buddy!" Usually Lilly likes her space but sometimes she agrees to be Vivi's "cuddle buddy" and it is oh so cute!

Scooters and a Story

The girls got darling scooters for Christmas and enjoy attempting to ride them. Lilly does pretty well, Vivi really struggles. On this particular cold but sunny day we went for a longer scooter ride/walk. Every few feet the girls would stop for a break and Lilly would collect leaves and Vivi would imitate her. Unfortunately Vivi's ability to find actual leaves is not as refined and she picked up a green lump, which turned out to be moldy dog poop.

I immediately told her to drop it and instructed her not to put her hands near her face or mouth and told both the girls we had to go home right away to clean her up. After she dropped the green poo she giggled and deliberately put her hands in her mouth. As I opened my mouth to yell at her she giggled louder and shoved her hands in MY mouth! It was beyond disturbing!

We spent an agonizing 5 minutes riding/walking back to the house (Lilly riding while I carried Vivi and her scooter) with Vivi screaming and Lilly constantly asking what was going to happen to her when we got home. It has been by far one of the grossest things I have experienced which having small children and many years teaching small children, but also one of the funniest stories I share!

VERY Belated Easter Pictures

We had a lovely Easter with both sides of the family this year. The girls are just so much fun right now!

Here are pictures of celebrations with the Wagoner side.

My Aunt and Uncle brought a collection of hats for everyone to wear an "easter bonnet" for pictures. Vivi was a huge fan of a skunk pellet hat that she called her "meow, meow" hat.

Here are some pictures of the Lawrence side celebrations:

Lots of Fun At The Park

This spring the girls want to go straight to the park every day after school whenever the weather is decent. They are both getting pretty good at doing everything by themselves which is so nice for us!
