Family Camping Trip

We only made it on one camping trip this summer, things were just SO busy on weekends. But our one trip was lots of fun. We accidentally booked a spot in the mountains instead of where we thought we were going to go in Hood River but it was really lovely and rustic where we ended up.

The camp ground also had a creek to play in nearbye.

 



 

Smores, you gotta have smores! The morning after we had smores Vivi put a piece of charcoal from the fire in her mouth and sadly said "That NOT chocolate!" It has been a funny joke Lilly loves to hear and tell often.

 

 

Viv also didn't understand flashlights and used them by shining them in her eyes which made it even harder to see, it was pretty hillarious!

 



 

Collecting Pine cones that we later took home to put in our fairy garden we made. Of course poor Vivi had to carry the bucket while Lilly scouted out the best pine cones.

Oaks Park Toddler Times = Fun Times

Another highlight of the summer was going to Toddler Time at Oaks Park where they can ride the little kid rides and mini train. At the end their is story time with a dairy princess, cookies, milk and dancing. The girls really loved going!

Vivi had to have a turn riding the lion too. Vivi hated any ride that moved but loved the carrousel.

 

This day we went with Lilly's friend Sofia and her Mom, here are the girls waiting in line for one of the rides.

Creek Adventures

We also spent a lot of time in the creek that runs in our backyard. Ryan worked really really hard to clear the pathway to the creek and one of the neighbors had cleared the little island in the center of the creek. It is a Kids' paradise there. There are crawdads and dragonflies and a lots of hiding spots and places for picnics. Next summer we will spend most every day down there when Vivi is a little older.

Silly Sisters

One day the girls wanted to eat a snack sitting on the window shelf and they spent a long time sitting and gut giggling together. Such Silly girls!

 

 

Zoo Trip

We took lots of trips to the Zoo this summer. The girls have so much fun there! On this trip we went with my friend Katie and her cute kids.

Rollerskating

One thing Lilly wanted to do a lot of this summer was to go rollerskating. Our local roller rink has toddler time every week and we made it there quite a few times. This was the first time Vivi could wear skates too!

Lilly loved it, Vivi was a little hesitant to give it a try. It didn't help that Lilly grabbed on her to stabilize herself and knocked her down in the first few minutes. It was a rough start.

Eventually Vivi did warm up to it and really had fun rollerskating too. They both loved the free popcorn at the end and getting a piece of candy too.

Fish Hatchery Trip

So, its been awhile since I downloaded pictures and there is a large part of the summer to go through! So here comes lots of posts!

 

We had some fun playdates with my friend Katie and her two kids this summer. One really fun one was an impromptu trip to the fish hatchery. I always forget what a fun place it is for kids. They had SO much fun feeding the fish, wandering around, etc.
