Writing Her Novel

Lilly is very into writing with pens lately and she prefers to write in little booklets. She will write and write for long periods of time often moving around trying to get comfortable. She takes it very seriously and doesn't like to be interrupted. We think she will be right handed and already has a good pencil grip. Now we have to stock up on booklets because she is going through them pretty quickly and has so much to write about!

One of her favorite spots to write is on our laps. Here she is cuddling with her Daddy while she writes some important thoughts down.

Coloring Like A Big Girl

Lately Lilly is very into coloring and writing with pens. So far she is right handed and even holds her pen the right way most of the time! The other day she started laying on her tummy to color in her coloring book with her feet crossed in the air. Sometimes I can't believe what a big girl she has become!

Laying on her tummy like a big girl!

Trying to decide which marker to use next.

Concentrating hard on coloring this page.

Pile of kids on the chair.

Posing for the camera (followed by Lilly falling off the arm on the chair).

Pony Tails, Potties and Junk Mail

As one of her "chores" Lilly has taken on pre-reading all of the junk mail and writing responses for us. This particular night she came home from daycare with two pony tails on the top of her head.
In the background you can see one of her new favorite toys, the potty chair. She came home from daycare earlier in the week with her shirt snapped on the outside of her pants because she wouldn't stop taking her pants off and sitting on the daycare potty. At daycare she is one of the youngest kids in the class and many of them are being potty trained at daycare. In order to do this all the kids that aren't on the potty sit on little chairs and cheer on the kid on the potty chair. Lilly really wants to be the one on the potty being clapped for, but she is a little too young to tell us when she needs to use the potty chair.
At home we got out her big girl potty and she likes to sit on it every once in awhile. The potty chair had to go in the living room because she wants everyone (including the dogs) to see she is sitting on the potty. One of her favorite things is to rock out to music while sitting on the potty (Lady Gaga songs are her favorite). She is far away from being potty trained but is excited about the potty.

Babies are Hard to Keep Clean!

Now that Lilly is very interested in all things "baby doll" she has realized that keeping a baby clean is hard work! We bathe her baby doll in the bathtub and wipe it with wipes but on this occasion Lilly thought a run through the dishwasher was necessary.
