Swimming With Baby Group

We have been SO busy this week doing tons of Mommy Baby things and this Mama has had a hard time remembering the camera or to take pictures if I have it. These are tiny pictures I copied from a friend since it was too hard navigating with baby at the pool to take pictures. I realize you can't make them bigger, we are in pink and red.
We enrolled Lilly in swimming lessons that start next weekend since this mini-preview lesson was so much fun! Her swimming class is called the angelfish, so cute!

We had so much fun reconnecting with other babies and mamas!

Baby in A Box

We don't have much blogging material right now but couldn't resist sharing this picture. She won't be this little for long!

Our Little Hungry Caterpillar

One morning Daddy was reading Lillian the Hungry Caterpillar and Lillian just happened to be wearing her Hungry Caterpillar sleeper. Mommy couldn't resist grabbing her coordinated stuffed animal and taking some pictures.

She Sits Up!

After lots of wobbly attempts Lillian sat up by herself for the first time over the weekend. We just think she is so cute sitting up like a big girl!

Trying Real Food

Lillian is 6 months old today and although it was a little bit before 6 months she tried solid foods for the first time on Saturday.

Check out some of her first bites on video:

One of her first bites.

It just got better from there.

She had to hold her own spoon (or at least the end of it) the whole time.

When the food was gone she searched for more.

What a messy face! It was off to bath time after that!

Lillian's First Swim

During our weekend stay at Edgefield we took Lillian swimming for the first time in the soaking pool there. We expected her to love swimming but it was not fun for her at first. She got more used to it the longer we stayed in the water. Hopefully she will get more used to it.

First time in the pool, feeling very insecure.

Still in panick mode with her little hands curled up against her chest and a sad little face.

Getting a little more comfortable but still hanging on tight.

Before getting to the pool though Lillian loved her new swim suit (even though it was very hard to get on!). She just wanted to hang out.

Celebration Get Away

To celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and Lillian's 6 month unbirthday we escaped to McMenamin's Edgefield for a night. Staying at McMenamin's hotels for special occasions was our tradition before we had Lillian so of course we wanted to take her along!

She was an amazing little traveler. From the moment we took her out of the car (yes Edgefield is less than a mile away and we have walked there with her before, but this time we had too much gear to walk) she was thrilled. She was constantly giggling, smiling and squealing with glee.

Here she is in the front pack, she thought it was a daddy operated jumparoo, she kicked her legs constantly. It was a really nice day so we walked all over the hotel grounds.

Again in the front pack with one of her really big smiles most likely followed by a giggle and squeal. Honestly she was this happy almost the whole time so it is a perfect picture to describe how much she enjoyed the trip.

Besides being a nice family getaway it was the start of a weekend with many "first things" for Lillian. One of those first things was sitting in a high chair for the first time.

What a big girl!!

Her first reaction to the high chair was to lean over and give the table a thorough taste test before we had a chance to get all of her toys lined up to distract her from the temptingly tasty table.

More of Lillian's "first things" will be posted on the blog this week... stay tuned!
